Welcome to Folweni township which was established during the aerly 1930( axact date) , in those days there were on ly five leading surnames which were Makhanya, Shezi, Langa,Gumede and Khwelas who each owned a very big piece of land during those times. The first ever primiry schools that were built is Golokodo primary followed by Phindela , and the first high school was built in 1960, for transport they only had two buses one buse was owned by Maphumulo and the second one was owned by Dlomos family. Before Folweni was formerly established it was called Ezabelweni because aperson was just given a huge piece of land eg;10 hectors.


In 1970 to 1980 the boers started visiting Folweni and surveying the place after that houses were built there were divided into 3 sections which were a, b and c section c was given to the big companies like Ferrodo and Toyota to build house subsidies for their workers, that when Folweni started to develope and people started flooding in. Today we have about 40.000 to 50.000 people living in Folweni and about 6.000 households and still today we continue to see development we have 12+- primary schools and 10+-high schools 2 clinics, 2 police stations ,3 community halls and 1 community sport ground.
